E-Town is a program of Impact & Main Inc. We are city builders and part of the social impact world. We invest in new ideas that can change the way communities grow, re-invent themselves, and become successful. Our team is made up of people with experience in downtown revitalization, entrepreneurship, facilities planning, operations, and marketing and branding. It’s everything needed to design, launch, and manage facilities, programs, and services.
Each E-Town project is a partnership of residents; community organizations representing business, tourism, economic development, and culture; governments of all levels; colleges and universities; and external and local investors. The resulting collaboration ensures that each local project and the national programs are responsive to local needs while at the same time create economies of scale, large networks of practitioners, and the sharing of ideas and experiences.
Lisette has worked with numerous communities and public and private organizations to develop and implement marketing and communications plans. She has 20+ years of managing and leading the development of marketing plans and their execution. Lisette is a seasoned expert in creating action-driven, measurable customer experiences. She works with small to medium-sized communities to design and put into operation their strategies and plans. In community development, and entrepreneurship and incubation, she has worked with the Town of Greater Napanee with its Impact Real Estate program and the City of Barrie with the development of an entrepreneurs’ hub. Lisette has also recently worked with the Muskoka Tourism Marketing Association, the Regional Tourism Organization 12 and currently with the Town of Smooth Rock Falls in Northern Ontario with their branding strategy and marketing campaigns. This latter campaign has drawn national and international attention to this small town of 1,400 people and investment interest leading to a revitalization of the economic prospects of the community.
Glen has over 30 years’ experience in the development and implementation of economic development and marketing programs. He has developed business and operating programs and strategies for local and national organizations and growth programs for many products, services, and ideas. Glen has worked with several hundred communities on their economic development programs. His program designs have been implemented across Canada and overseas.
Glen is the founder of the St. Clements Group Inc. the precursor of Impact & Main Inc. He is formerly the vice president of the National Trust for Canada, the designer of the economic development components of the Main Street Canada downtown revitalization program, a former CEO of the ELMS Learning Centers Ltd. (China/Canada), a partner in Adrenaline Productions Ltd., and a senior consultant with Ernst & Young’s culture and economic development practice. He led departments at Ombudsman Ontario and the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. Glen also managed profit centers at Heritage Canada and the University of British Columbia.
Val is an expert in incubators and entrepreneurship and is a co-founder of the DMZ at Ryerson University. The DMZ has grown to become North America’s premier university business incubator and the third in the world (UBI 2015). She helps build successful incubation models with corporations, academic institutions and regions that bring communities of diverse skills together to collaborate, design and deliver impactful innovation. Val has more than 30 years of experience in the creative digital industry. She has worked with technology in the university sector, for industry, and for consumers. Her roles have ranged from business development to creative direction and user experience for digital technologies. In May 2012 Val was presented with the prestigious Canadian Women in Technology (CanWIT) Sara Kirke Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Hannah works closely with communities in strategic planning, marketing, branding, and tourism development. She is particularly skillful in working with organizations to identify their strengths and weaknesses and to create community dialogues. Hannah has strong experience in product development for cultural, post-secondary institutions, and economic development agencies. Recent projects includes advising communities on their cultural plans, library development, youth entrepreneurship, and their branding and marketing messages.
Susan has a unique blend of Canadian and global new business experience. She is adept in complex multi-disciplinary new business environments and effectively applies senior experience to new business management. A former senior executive at Y&R, Susan led and supported global teams on new business opportunities. Her wide breadth of industry experience includes healthcare, automotive, government, consumer packaged goods, and travel and tourism. Susan works on the development of the strategic foundation of the E-Town programs.
